Too much fun - 13 weeks

We are having so much fun with our princess! She is getting such a happy and cute personality. She is alert, will "talk" to you, smiles all the time and loves to be wherever the action is. Here is Rose @ 13 weeks old.

We had our first trip to Dr. Laws (Denyist) this week. Rose had a few bouts of fussiness but overall, did great while mommy and daddy got their teeth cleaned!


Bibs are a must around his place. We have a mini-slobbermaster now!




Playtime after a bath. I think this is Rose's favorite time, sans diapers. She LOVES being clean and naked.








She's a mamma's girl :) I'm her favorite, she told me so :)



She's such a cutie when she sleeps - I wish we could cuddle all of the time.



Rose likes her swing. She is very wiggly.

Finger-Lickin' Fun Times @ 12 Weeks and the Ugly Word (Work)

This week was my first week back to work. The transition is going very well - much better than I anticipated. I am actually enjoying the time away and I think Rose likes having other people to play with.

Here is our arrangement for the week:
Day 1 = Was with Great Grandma Whitaker
She was good for G-Gma, G Aunt Minnie and Pa (yes, we had 3 people watching her). She played, napped and was very social. When she got home she fell asleep at 8. I think this is when I fell in love with the whole working / parenting thing. :)

Day 2 = Daycare @ Megs Playhouse
The teacher was so sweet - said Rose was an angel. When I walked in, Rose was watching the other kids play - you could tell she was really enjoying herself (see pic below). We got home and she immediately fell asleep @ 7 - she was SOOOOO tired; nothing could wake her up!


Day 3 = Daddy
She did pretty good with daddy. Had a couple of meltdowns but was a princess. Daddy enjoyed spending the day with her alone.

Day 4 = Mommy
So far, today is going well. We have played, napped and are doing chores together. She's been in a great mood.

Day 5 = Jama (My mom)
Jama will be taking her to show her off tomorrow. Best wishes, Jama!

We had our first houseguests stay over last week. Our good friends Anna Mary and Scott came into town for a visit. We miss them already!!!








Rose is starting to grasp things quite well. She is also fascinated by her hands and loves to shove them in her mouth. Sometimes, she gags herself on them.

11 Weeks, can you believe it?

Where is the time going??? 11 weeks already? Feels like just yesterday we brought her home.
We've had a great week. I've been teaching Rose how to shop and multi-task this week and I'm gearing up for my first week back to work (which starts next week). She is still a little colicky at night but it is getting better. She loves being with her mommy, which I love - just feel sorry for the person holding her when I'm around :)

Ahhh...the sleep poses. These are my favorites from this week. She is the cutest sleeper (can you tell she sleeps just like her daddy?)








Rose tried out her new chair, the Bumpo, this week. She LOVES it (for about 15 minutes)!! You can tell when she gets tired because her chin hits her chest and she can't muster up the energy to pull it back up. Quite entertaining I must say. Thank you Travis and Anita for passing this down to us!








We believe Rose got her hair from her Uncle David (I think she has more though). They aren't blood relatives but they have the exact same fro!! :)



Her teeny tiny feet. Oh so cute. We call them monkey toes, you can put your finger around them and she'll curl her toes around them.

The Big 1-0 (Weeks, that is)

Rose is now 10 weeks old - we will only get to spend one more week together before I go back to work. I'm really bummed :(

We've been trying out the sleep sack instead of the swaddle. She seems to like it.
