Blake's New Toy

Blake bought a new set of Taylor Made clubs and boy is he excited. He cleaned them because they had "sticky" stuff on them...I got in a couple of photos before I got in trouble :0) I have also caught him putting in the house and taking practice swings...
Tomorrow he is taking me golfing for the second time with some of his buddies. He can't wait to show them off!

Taylor is doing much better. She is back to ole' self and getting into everything and bouncing everywhere. We're going my parents-in-laws house next weekend, so she'll be staying with Grandma and Grandpa.

Our Poor Baby...

We took Taylor to the vet yesterday to get her fixed. We later discovered that she got pregnant in November (see posting on Nov 19 to see the daddy) and was carried the baby in her fallopian tubes. Once the baby ran out of room, it died. Taylor was born with closed fallopian tubes. The dead baby released poisionous toxins and caused her to be very sick. We didn't notice anything different besides her sleeping more than usual. She has never been a good eater so that wasn't a good indicator. She has been running a dangerous high fever for weeks now and the vet said next week she would have gotten even worse and could have possibly died. Needless to say, she was fixed and is on the road to recovery. She is at home now and is sleeping a lot. She is cuddling and hates to be left alone. She can't get on the furniture so we are having to haul her around from couch to couch. She was awake for 10 minutes and wanted to sit by the window, which is the picture attached. She is on antibotics and should be fine in the next couple of days. We feel so lucky to have caught it when we did...

Waterfall Wonderland / Upcoming Weeks Events

I am sitting at our kitchen table, doing homework, checking email and enjoying the waterfall sounds from our back porch. We still haven't fixed the gutter from the tree falling on our house 3 months ago. Part of it is laziness and part of it is that we want to wait until it gets to be Spring so Blake can figure out it he can fix it himself or if he wants to hire someone. So until then, every time it rains, the water comes through the hole and hits the porch. Even if it is barely raining, it sounds like Niagra Falls (ok, I'm exaggerating). It is pretty relaxing though. Because of this, our back porch is "off limits" during storms, unless a second bath is in order. :0)

I have canceled our picture website. I know that deeply distresses all of you...just kidding. I'll try to keep this updated with the latest happenings in the life of the Scarborough's.

Taylor is getting fixed next week and I am beginning to dread it. I know that most dogs experience this and recover quickly, but I feel so bad for her. She already gets anxious when we get in the car so I can imagine from that point on it's going to be that much worse! Will she ever trust us again? This also makes me wonder how it's going to be when I'm a mother of a lil' baby. I am so attached to this dog...

Hope ya'll are having a good week. Catch ya later!

CrAzY week

It's been a crazy week. Blake and I have both been plugging away at school and there never seems to be enough time to get things done...but we are managing. Next week will be better...I think things will slow down a bit and we can relax some.

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care.

P.S. Next week I am closing down our pictures site...please let me know if you'd like some pics and I'll send them to WalMart.

Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend in Florence. Brad came into town and is going to be home (in Jacksonville, FL) for a few months until he gets deployed. We had a "Coming Home" party and invited friends over for a celebration. Blake and I went on a nature walk and house hunted. We found a house that we'd like when we are millionaires! Blake played golf with the boys while I ate lunch with Keishun and Jordan. We had a lovely time.
With all of that excitement, we are both extremely exhausted.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Full Time Students

Yeah, it is official. Today I started the MAE Program at Cumberland. I was really nervous about it but now that orientation is over I feel like I made the right decision. It's a little overwhelming and strange to have 2 students in the house...but I think we will both be able to have better study habits and be better supports for each other. I have to get my computer fixed so I can spread out my things on the table...I guess that'll be next! I'm going to start looking at an Alternative License to teach, since I'm officially enrolled in school...but I'm not sure I'm ready to leave my current job. It's a tough decision but I know that I will know what's right when it comes.

Other than that, everything is going well. Blake has been enjoying his Wii and I have enjoyed not doing dishes!

Our 1st Anniversary

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary on Saturday and Sunday. We spent the day together and went out to eat at Nick & Rudy's. Then we came back home and watched "War of Worlds", which was the movie we saw on our first date. Blake has promised to do dishes for a year and brought me roses for my anniversary gift. I gave him a personalized calendar, scrapbook and board game.
On our actual anniversary, our friends Jordan and Keishun came in town and we went to Blackstone Brewery for dinner. Then we ate our traditional cake and played games all night and recalled old memories.
New Years we had a few drinks and friends over. We had a campfire going and had a small fireworks display. We had a blast!
Jordan and Keishun stayed all weekend and we had fun catching up and lounging around...the last pic is of Keishun and me before heading out in the freezing cold to the campfire.

Happy New Year!
